Dal fry recipe (दाल फ्राई रेसिपी) is one of the most popular varieties of Dals in India. It is though prepared in many variations but mostly cooked with toor dal and chana dal.
Dal fry recipe got its name because of its unique procedure of cooking which makes it different from other dal recipes. Generally dal is tempered with spices in usual dal recipes but in case of dal fry recipe, temper is prepared first and then dal is poured over it and fried and simmered.

Boiled lentils are then added to this spicy mixture and fried for a while.
