  1. First of all, add soaked lentils, salt, turmeric powder and water to pressure cooker. Boil it till 2 whistles and let it cool itself.
  2. Now we will prepare masala for dal fry. Heat ghee in a large pan and crackle cumin seeds and asafoetida in it.
  3. Then add ginger and garlic and cook on medium flame until light brown.
  4. Add onion in it and cook on medium flame till light pink.
  5. Finally add all the remaining ingredients except fresh coriander leaves, and cook on low flame until tomato cooked well.
  6. Now open the pressure cooker and add dal.
  7. Let dal simmer on medium flame for 2 minutes. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
