The combination of bottle gourd and chana lentil making it a perfect dish for a wholesome lunch or dinner. It is served with chapati, bejad roti, plain paratha and with plain rice. Lauki Chana Dal Recipe : Step by Step
  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and crackle asafetida and cumin seeds in it.
  2. Add onion in it and cook until pink.
  3. Then add tomato, green chili pepper and all the spices in it and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.

  4. Now add bottle gourd, Bengal gram and water in it. Close the lid of cooker and let your vegetable cook on high flame.

  5. Switch off the flame after 3 whistles and let it cool itself.
  6. Now open the lid and mash the vegetable slightly.

  7. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, paratha, naan or bati.
