Do You Expect Healthy Politics After Masood And Sabir Ali Episodes?

Imran Masood

At the peak time of Lok Sabha 2014 elections, Indian politics, Congress and BJP are facing a new storm of Imran Masood and Sabir Ali.

A video of Imran Masood – Lok Sabha candidate of Congress from Saharanpur seat (Uttar Pradesh) came in existence on Thursday, March 26, 2014, in which Imran Masood was recorded to saying to chop Narendra Modi – the prime ministerial candidate of BJP, into pieces.

Imran Masood also said (as shown in the video) that Narendra Modi must keep remember that there are only 4% Muslims in Gujarat but 42% in Uttar Pradesh.

“Imran Masood’s statements are reflecting the “aggressive secularism” of Congress,” said BJP leaders.

Police arrested Imran Masood on Saturday morning between 3 am and 4 am. Court sent Imran Masood to Jail for 14 days on Saturday, March 29, 2014 after this entire episode.

Congress had not cleared till Saturday evening, after more than 12 hours of his arrest, either Imran Masood will still remain the Lok Sabha candidate for Saharanpur seat of Uttar Pradesh from Congress or not.

It was also not cleared by Congress officials till then, that the membership of Imran Masood from the party (Congress) will cancelled or not after this serious issue.

According to experts, any delay or liberty in taking decision against Imran Masood may spoil the image of Congress seriously in the coming Lok Sabha elections, because in the two consecutive ruling sessions at center, Congress already faced challenges against corruption, lowering the growth rate, Bhanwari case and Babulal Nagar’s case (in Rajasthan) and some more serious issues.

Rahul Gandhi reviewing Congress Manifesto

Whatever be the effect of all this episode on the image of Congress may the another detailed topic to discuss, but here few important questions sprout:

  1. Does election commission allow such candidates to fight elections, whether the candidate belongs to any party or fighting elections independently.
  2. Congress always attacks on Narendra Modi on the issue of secularism. Now, why Congress is silent on Imran Masood?
  3. Is this sort of foul language which Imran Masood used for Narendra Modi should allow on the name of freedom of speech?
  4. Will Congress set some marvelous example of decision in this issue to spread some good message in the country about its ideology?
  5. Will Rahul Gandhi set a positive example of his wish to clean the politics and make it healthy, which was also indicated in Congress Manifesto 2014?
  6. Will Congress, BJP and other political parties understand the seriousness of this issue in the direction of secular image of the Nation in the whole World, as well as the provisions of respecting all the religions equally in Indian constitution, OR the Indian political parties will try to take the advantage of the issue in their own way for their own profits?

Here, the liabilities of all the religious organizations and individuals also increase to make the healthy and peaceful environment in the country after these kind of sensitive statements given by Imran Masood.

It is keen responsibility of all the political parties and religious organisations this time (and always) to not let the terror and tension spread in the country.

Furthermore, BJP has also faced a new storm of Sabir Ali on Friday, March 28, 2014 which was continued till the afternoon of Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Sabir Ali

The storm came in BJP on the induction of JD(U)’s expelled leader Sabir Ali.

A chorus of protests was triggered into the party (BJP) which was led by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi who accused Sabir Ali of having terrorist links.

Few of the women leaders of BJP were also objected the Sabir Ali’s induction in BJP, citing his foul language against women.

Vinay Katiyar, a senior leader of BJP said, “Yasin Bhatkal was arrested from the residence of Sabir Ali. In addition to this, Sabir Ali is also a co-accused with Dawood in a murder case. I therefore, against the entry of Sabir Ali in BJP.”

It is notable that Yasin Bhatkal is a co-founder of the banned Indian Mujahideen (IM), involved in Pune’s German Bakery blast and the blasts in Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai.

But the chorus of protests was actually sparked off outrage on the tweet of Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, “Terrorist Bhatkal’s friend joins BJP… soon accepting Dawood…”

BJP cancelled the membership of Sabir Ali on Saturday, March 29, 2014, just after 1 day of his induction in BJP, after the shocking tweet of Naqvi and the protests inside the party on the entry of Sabir Ali in BJP.

The entire episode of Sabir Ali’s induction to expulsion from BJP also aroused some important questions:

  1. Which ideology of BJP is reflected by accepting Sabir Ali in the party?
  2. Was the induction of Sabir Ali was the decision of Narendra Modi or BJP?
  3. If the intense protest against Sabir Ali was not sparked within BJP, would party (BJP) issued him Lok Sabha 2014 election ticket?
  4. Narendra Modi recently alleged Arvind Kejriwal and said him AK49. Narendra Modi also called Kejriwal an Agent of Pakistan and enemy of India on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Now, will Narendra Modi give some explanation on Sabir Ali’s episode?

Last but not least, a very hot question is awaiting an answer after the episodes of Imran Masood and Sabir Ali, from all the Indian political parties:
“Is the cleansing of Indian Politics is still air castle for us and should we not expect some healthy changes in Indian Politics yet?”

    Sameer Sir,
Well correctly said, it seems as per Congress ideology and thinking of Masood has changed completely and he has become “innocent now”. Same is happening with BJP,you must have read about two the exclusion of two “innocent “Muthalik and Sabir Ali within the day they joined BJP. Actually the problem seems to be that everything is in the transition phase. The parties are thoroughly confused.
    Nicely answered the questions.Thanks

      Nitesh Sir,
Thanks for your comments. See, the latest updates (till when I’m writing you this reply) from Indian politics on these two issues which I discussed above:

      1. As court sent Imran Masood to Jail, election commission can cancel the candidature of Masood for Lok Sabha 2014 election. That’s why Congress wrote a letter to election commission on March 30, 2014 and already appeal to election commission to not cancel the candidature of Masood. Congress (and Rahul Gandhi in his rally) is saying that the video of Masood is 6 months old when he was the member of SP, not of Congress. Further, Rahul Gandhi said, “Statement of Masood for Modi doesn’t match to the ideology of Congress.”

      Now the questions are:
i.) When it doesn’t match to the ideology of Congress, then why you induct him in Congress?
ii.) Congress may didn’t know about the ideology of Masood at the time of his induction in Congress, but now his video is in public domain and nothing is hidden from Congress, then why Congress want him to continue to be a member of Congress, and the candidate on Saharanpur seat from Congress? Is it just because the nomination time is now over, and Congress can not nominate new candidate for this seat, and hence without fighting the seat will gone from the hands of Congress?
iii.) If Congress want to say that the ideology of Masood is now changed in the 6 months and he learnt the ideology of Congress, then please see the videos of Masood just after his arrest on this issue.

      2. I said in the above post, “It is keen responsibility of all the political parties and religious organisations this time (and always) to not let the terror and tension spread in the country.”

See the yesterday’s (March 30, 2014) statement of Uddhav Thackeray on Masood. Is this statement under the category of “provoking and flaring up” the situation or “ease the situation and helpful to make peaceful environment in nation?”

The question is, now why BJP doesn’t condemn this statement of Uddhav Thackeray? Is it means that if your supporter will ill-speak then it is fine, but if the opposition will ill-speak then only it is wrong???

Both, in point 1 and point 2, are the double standards not following by both the parties (BJP and Congress)???
