Dahi Vada Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
  1. Grind black gram with small amount of water in morning and make thick paste.
  2. Heat oil in a karahi to deep fry vada.
  3. Meanwhile add salt, asafoetida and black salt in black gram paste.
  4. When oil heated moderately, then spread 1 tsp paste on fingers.
  5. Put 1 cashew and 1 raisin over it and fold it.
  6. Deep fry all vadas on medium flame till golden appearance and take out the vadas on an absorbent paper.
  7. Soak vada in water for 10 minutes before serving. You can also soak vada in buttermilk. It will enhance the taste of your dahi vada.
  8. After 10 minutes, take out all the vadas and press gently between the palms to drain the excess water.
  9. Serve your vada with thick and beaten yogurt, salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
