Chole bhature recipe (छोले भठूरे रेसिपी)  is worldwide famous Punjabi recipe for its unique taste and unique preparation.

Chole bhature recipe is actually a combination of two recipes. Chole is chickpeas cooked with many spices and gravy. Bhautre is a deep fried puffed bread made by Maida flour.

It is a veg recipe which is eaten in all meals in India, i.e. in breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

Chole Bhature Recipe Video:
Chole Bhature Recipe - Step by Step Instructions:
  1. First of all, make dough for Bhature.
  2. Mix maida flour, sour yogurt, salt and baking soda in a bowl.
  3. Add water and knead a soft dough.
  4. Cover the dough and leave it for 1 hour for fermentation.
  5. Meanwhile, make chole.
  6. Heat 2 tbsp oil in pressure cooker and crackle cumin seeds and bay leaves in it.
  7. Add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste and cook it on medium flame until golden brown.
  8. Now, add tomatoes and green chili in it and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Finally add all the spices, salt, soaked chickpeas and water in it.
  10. Close the lid and let chickpeas cook on high flame until 1 whistle.
  11. Now, reduce the flame to medium and let the chickpeas cook until 4 whistles.
  12. Switch off the flame and let the pressure cooker cools itself.
  13. Open the lid of cooker and mix the chickpeas properly and garnish with garam masala and fresh coriander leaves.
  14. Delicous and sumptuous Chickpeas are ready.
  15. Now make Bhature.
  16. Make 2 inch sized balls from the dough.
  17. Heat oil in a karahi and meanwhile grease the balls with oil and roll in 6 inch size.
  18. Deep fry bhature from both the sides.
  19. Amazing Chole Bhature are ready.
  20. Serve chole bhature hot with your favorite pickle and onion rings.
