  1. First of all, soak rice in water and leave it for half an hour.
  2. Keep rice aside and heat oil in a karahi.
  3. Crackle cumin seeds in hot oil and add bay leaves, brown cardamom and cinnamon sticks in it.
  4. Now add carrots and peas in it. Also add a pinch of salt and mix it well.
  5. Let these vegetables cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.
  6. When vegetables become half cooked then add rice, water and salt in it. Mix it well.
  7. Cover it with lid and let it cook till rice absorb all the water.
  8. Colorful, aromatic gajar matar ka pulao is ready.
  9. Serve it hot and enjoy the winters.
Recipe Notes
  1. If you cant soak rice for half an hour, then you may need to add some extra water and need to cook little longer.
  2. This peas pulao recipe gives best taste with Basmati rice, but you can also use other varieties of rice.
